A man in his 50s was sentenced to one year and nine months in prison for, inter alia, breaking into the “Skal vi danse” studio and stealing production equipment worth nearly one million crowns.
It was another night Friday September 25 last yearjust weeks after the show premiered its 17th season, the man broke into the center belonging to TV 2 and stole items worth at least 931,107 NOK.
While the participants competed on track every Saturday for several weeks, they trained daily at this dance center located near Bislett in Oslo.
In court, the man admitted to being behind the theft. He later helped the police recover parts of the stolen equipment.
For the equipment that failed, the man has to pay NOK 378,570 in compensation.
But the severe prison sentence of one year and nine months is not only due to the theft at the “Skal vi danse” centre:
The man was convicted of a total of eleven crimes and the confiscation of both weapons and drugs.
He also loses his right to a lifelong driving license, after initiating a police chase through central Oslo.
