An Iranian court has sentenced a person to death, accused of being responsible for the unrest following the death of Mahsa Amini (22).

Amini’s death has a weight big reactions around the world. People took to the streets and women cut their hair in protest against the Iranian religious authorities.

Amini stayed arrested by Iranian Morale Police for “wrong” use of the hijab. She died in Tehran custody on September 16.

DEATH: Mahsa Amini, 22, of Saqqez, Kurdistan Province, was reported to have been arrested in connection with a family visit to Tehran.

Now one person has been sentenced to death in Iran, accused of being responsible for the unrest that followed the death.

The ruling, quoted on the judiciary website Mizian Online, will be the first of its kind following the latest wave of unrest in the country.

The convict received the death penalty for allegedly setting fire to a public building, disturbing public order and crimes against national security.
