The collective of judges also condemned the same defendant to pay compensation of 155,000 euros to the victim’s parents and more than 30,000 euros of hospital expenses, in addition to 2,200 to another person offended in the process.
It should be recalled that, initially, eight young people were in preventive detention and accused of consummated qualified homicide in relation to Luís Giovani, and of attempted homicide in relation to the three friends.
In the instruction phase, requested by some of the defendants, one of the accused was withdrawn from the process and the other seven remained indicted for the crime of qualified homicide, but saw the accusation mitigated for offenses to physical integrity in relation to the three victims.
In reading the judgment, the presiding judge highlighted the message of prevention that justice wanted to convey with this decision in the face of the various news that has arisen of problems at night, identical to those that led to the death of the young man in the early hours of December 21, 2019.
