On April 26, the People’s Court of Quang Nam province opened a first-instance hearing to try defendant Le Quang Tien Dung (40 years old, residing in Thanh My town, Nam Giang district, Quang Nam province) on the charge of raping a person under 16 years old.

According to the indictment, at the beginning of 2020, Dung had a romantic relationship with Ms. NTL (43 years old, residing in Hiep Duc district, Quang Nam). This woman has a daughter named Y. (14 years old) who lives in the same house.
Having known for a while, Dung moved to live as husband and wife with Mrs. L. at her house.
On April 26, 2022, Ms. L was ill, so she was hospitalized for long-term treatment. When his girlfriend was away from home, Dung had an intention to abuse Y.
On the evening of May 3, 2022, Dung sneaked into his bedroom to grovel and abuse, then he protested. The pervert still did not let go, Y.’s nephew ran away to the neighbor’s house to stay for the night.
After listening to her daughter’s story, the mother who was in the hospital immediately went home and took her child to Hiep Duc District Police to report the incident.
At the time of being abused by Le Quang Tien Dung, the victim was only 13 years old. Dung’s behavior commits the crime of Rape of a person under 16 years old.
At the end of the trial, the trial panel sentenced Le Quang Tien Dung to 13 years in prison.
