Around two weeks after the conviction against former Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein for sex crimes, the sentence is to be announced today. The 67-year-old faces up to 29 years in prison.
The public prosecutor recently ordered Judge James Burke to be severely punished. Weinstein had abused women for decades and has so far shown no regrets. The defense has already announced that it wants to go into revision. A jury had found Weinstein guilty of rape and sexual assault on two women in late February. He was acquitted on two issues related to rape allegations. After the conviction, Weinstein had first come to a hospital and then to a New York prison.
