The Sensuntepeque team was crowned champion of the paracentral zone of the 2024 Alevines Cup by beating San Rafael Obrajuelo 3-2 on penalties, after drawing goalless in regular time. The match was played at the Antonio Toledo Valle Stadium, in Zacatecoluca, La Paz.

The match ended with a 0-0 draw and forced both teams to define the title through penalty kicks, where Cabañas’ representatives were more successful in the shots that led them to qualify for the next round.

Regarding the result they achieved against the team from the department of La Paz, the coach of the champions, Raul Galindo, confirmed that it was a quite demanding match.

“Our team proposed a lot in attack, we looked for opportunities to open the scoring from all sides, inside and out, but the rival knew how to defend itself, which in the end required us to reach the penalty shootout,” said Galindo.

After winning first place in the regional, Raúl commented that participating in the Alevines Cup is a unique experience and he hopes that his team will continue to achieve results on the national stage.

“This is my first experience with the team and I was left with a very nice feeling of having achieved the goal. When we win, the spirit is different, now the kids are excited for what is to come,” said the coach of the winning team.
