A second batch of classified government documents found with President Biden was found at his private residence in the state of Delaware, the White House reports. The documents come from the time when Biden was vice president (2009-2017).

The papers, about which American media wrote last night, were found in the garage of Biden’s Wilmington home. A document was also found in Biden’s private library.

According to one of the president’s lawyers, the garage contains a “limited number” of papers, the contents of which have not been disclosed. Earlier, American media wrote that it concerned a dozen documents.

During a press conference this afternoon, Biden was asked about the find by journalists; he then read a statement from his lawyers. According to the president, the Ministry of Justice was immediately informed after the discovery and the papers were handed over to the ministry. Nothing else was found at other locations, such as Biden’s holiday home.

At the beginning of the evening, Minister Garland of Justice comes with a response.

Private office

Previously, secret documents from Biden’s time as vice president were found in a private office of the president at a think tank in Washington. Biden used the office between 2017 and the start of his 2020 presidential campaign. The pieces were found by lawyers who cleared out the office.

The contents were only disclosed that they were not atomic secrets. After the discovery, other private quarters of Biden were also searched, including Biden’s home in Delaware.

U.S. law requires documentation of the President or Vice President to be turned over to the National Archives after their departure. A preliminary judicial investigation has now been launched into the find.

Earlier it became clear that former President Trump had taken home hundreds of documents after his term of office. That documentation contained information about nuclear weapons of other countries. Unlike his successor Biden, Trump opposed the transfer to the archive.
