Sensation of the championship. Excited Hungarians robbed world champions from France

France’s footballers surprisingly drew 1: 1 with Hungary in the second match of the European Championships in Budapest and they do not yet have a certain progress in Group F.

Attila Fiola opened the scoring in the first half, and Antoine Griezmann equalized in the 66th minute. However, the French did not complete the turn and hesitated after a series of five victories without a collected goal.

“Les Bleus” will close the basic part of the Euro against the Portuguese, the Hungarians also play with Germany on Wednesday. In today’s hit, he will face the defenders of European gold from Portugal from 6 pm.

Thanks to the relaxed measures against coronavirus in the country, the Hungarians were able to reuse almost the entire capacity of the Puskás Arena as the only hosts of the European Championships. Home in a stormy atmosphere with almost 56,000 fans in the beginning kept up with the French favorites.

“Les Bleus” then began to dominate. Benzem’s shot was stopped by Gulácsi, whose goal was then missed in a good position by the headed Mbappé. After half an hour of play from another promising position, he also overshot Benzema, and after an individual action, Mbappé did not aim exactly.

The home team scored a goal after a long pass on their own half from a unique event just before the break. Fiola bumped into Sallai, ran away from Pavard, and fired a huge wave of euphoria with a ground shot at the stadium pole. The world champions collected for the first time after 527 minutes.

The French tried to push their opponents right at the beginning of the second half. Pogb’s shot center went to Gulácsi, but otherwise the Hungarians resisted. In the 59th minute, they were also lucky, because the substitute Dembélé hit the post.

But seven minutes later it was settled. After hesitating the Hungarian defense, the emphatic Mbappé sent the ball into the penalty area, Orbán inadvertently moved it to Griezmann and he did not hesitate in an ideal position. The Barcelona striker scored the 38th national team and seventh overall at the European Championships.

The tenacious Hungarians, however, did not let France put into great final pressure, even though Gulácsi held them again in the 82nd minute with an intervention against Mbappé’s shot. The French broke the five-match winning streak in mutual duels.
