The eco-friendly baskets designed by Sennori students.
Is called “Artists and Nerds” and it is the environmental education project launched by Gesenu (a company that manages the urban hygiene service), which the Sorso-Sennori comprehensive institute has joined.
With this initiative, also promoted by the municipal administration of Sennoristudents will be able to unleash their imagination to create drawings that have the theme of waste recycling and respect for the environment. The drawing techniques are free and the best creations will become the graphics of the containers waste sorting which will be delivered to the schools at the end of the school year.
Pupils will also be able to participate in an online meeting called “The colors of recycling”, during which environmental communicators, through fun games and quizzes, will raise awareness among children about the correct methods of recycling and they will show what happens to the waste that we throw away every day. At the end of the project, an exhibition will be organized where the containers graphicized with the best drawings will be displayed.

The recycling bins personalized with students’ drawings will remain in schools as visible symbols of their commitment to the environment, reinforcing the educational message on a daily basis – comments Leonard Casemunicipal councilor of Sennori with responsibility for public education -. Furthermore, the final exhibition with the delivery of the best containers represents a moment of collective celebration, where the entire process is recognized and valorised, helping to create a shared school culture of respect for the environment“.
