Age-appropriate living, outpatient care services, offers of help for seniors: the topics at the Seniors’ Fair in Hallbergmoos were diverse.

Hallbergmoos – With an average age of 39.5 years, Hallbergmoos is a very young community. But demographic change is also taking place here – and the interests and needs of the older generation are increasingly coming into focus. The interest in the senior fair was correspondingly high. The Seniors Information Day has been held every two years since 2008 – last four years ago because of Corona. The event was organized for the first time by the seniors’ representative Christiane Oldenburg-Balden together with Sonja Perzl (outreach seniors’ work in the community) and the seniors’ advisory board.

Age-appropriate housing, outpatient care services, offers of help for seniors and caregiving relatives: the range of information from municipal and regional organizations and providers was wide-ranging. The neighborhood help, the VdK, the social center Neufahrn, BRK, Malteser and providers of care services were all represented at the stands.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

The social center Neufahrn also informed about their offers: (from left) Brigitte Rieß, Beate Fromhold-Buhl (2nd chairwoman), Christine Stemmer and Elke Stiegelbauer.

Mayor Josef Niedermair emphasized the importance of the event in front of around 160 visitors who were invited to coffee and cake: “There are many topics that affect us all and that some people may not like to talk about: power of attorney, living will, home emergency call or Food on wheels. You should be informed and settle things in good time,” he underlined. His special thanks went to the Senior Citizens Advisor and Sonja Perzl: “They organized the Senior Citizens’ Day with a lot of heart and soul.” Oldenburg-Balden was happy about the great interest, the enormous support and cake donations from the many helpers.

Two specialist lectures were part of the information day for senior citizens: Attorney Markus Rainer provided information on living wills, powers of attorney and inheritance law: “A hot topic on a hot day in a room that is no less hot”, as the specialist lawyer for inheritance law pointed out. Claudia Schweiger from Malteser Hilfsdienst gave a lecture on the house emergency call, meals on wheels and household help.
