Seniors drunk behind the wheel – Mannheim morning

Landau.A 70-year-old woman drove a car in Herxheim near Landau with almost 2.5 per thousand alcohol in her blood. According to the police, the woman was on Saturday in the southern Weinstrasse district. There, other road users noticed her because of her unsafe driving style. A breath alcohol test showed a value of 2.46 per mille, the officials report on Sunday. A blood sample was also taken from the 70-year-old. Her driver’s license was withheld and criminal proceedings were initiated.

An 80-year-old man was drunk with his silver Citroën in Herxheim on Saturday. According to police, the man disregarded the right of way of a passing car when exiting a supermarket parking lot. This had to give way to oncoming traffic. On the street, the man was noticeable because of his unsafe driving style – he came off the road to the left and right and grazed the green spaces at the edge of the road.
