The multi-series film tells the story of two lonely seniors who inspire each other to find new challenges in a serious everyday life. Hoping that new conditions will help Nelly regain her joy in life, her daughter moves her to a new house with a garden. In front of her children, Nellie tries to look strong and satisfied with the new circumstances, but in reality she is unable to recover from her husband’s death. Nellie still feels weak, and nothing makes her happy. All she wants is to sleep on the couch and watch TV. Until you have to reckon with your new neighbor, Archia.
“The idea for the ministry Archie and Nellie occurred in early spring when we were hit by another wave of Covid-19. Along with working in cinema, I had started my medical studies and became more and more convinced that the human body is something unique, but our knowledge about it is very limited. Therefore, it seemed important to pass on the basic knowledge of how we function and what we can do to feel good, both physically and emotionally, with the help of cinema, “says director Madara Dislere.
“It is important to me that these 15 minutes of the miniseries allow the audience to forget about everyday worries and together with Arcia and Nellie they have a pleasant moment. I am glad to have had the opportunity to work with two wonderful actors – Regina Razum and Tena Oja. “The pictures were given life without saying a word! How is that possible?”
Actor Tenu Oja, who plays Archia in the series, says: “I have to say that I spent the best days of this year filming in Latvia. Madara Dislere is a wonderful director, whose vision I trusted from the first moment. I believe that the end result will be happy.”
Along with Regina Razuma and Tena Ojam, the audience will also see Inga Alsiņa-Lasmanis, Herbert Laukšteina, Mārtiņš Liepa, Māra Mennika, Oskars Morozovs, Madara Zviedri, Zani Jančevskas, Inesa Ramuti and other actors.
