A Jewish woman from Halle reports on an unbelievable incident. Her husband was added to a WhatsApp group unasked and unintentionally.
One person in the group then “made a swastika on his child’s workbench to post it to the group with the signature“ Made in the German Reich ”so that everyone would be amused,” she explains. “All because they knew we were Jews.”
The State Security also investigated, but the Public Prosecutor’s Office dropped the case because the participants in the group know each other personally and it would therefore not be a public statement. “I’m beside myself with anger,” said the woman.
Now they have finally lost all trust in the police and the judiciary. The reason for this had already given in the past when anti-Semitic incidents were reported, when one encountered insensitive officials who had also practiced “victim blaming”. A complaint to the Interior Ministry in Saxony-Anhalt was unsuccessful.
