Senior politician and founder of the Democratic Party Max Sopacua passed away, Wednesday (17/11) in Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital.
This sad news was confirmed by his colleague, in the Democratic party of the Moledoko camp, Darmizal.
Darmizal said Max’s body would be taken to a funeral home in Bogor, West Java.
“Right [Max meninggal dunia]. At 08.00 WIB this morning, he was dispatched from the RSPAD to the funeral home in Bogor,” Darmizal said CNNIndonesia.com, Wednesday (17/11).
He admitted that he did not know the exact cause or illness that Max suffered until he died. However, according to him, Max’s health condition declined after undergoing heart surgery in 2020.
“There is no certainty about the cause, his condition declined after heart surgery at the end of last year,” said Darmizal.
Max was dismissed as a Democrat cadre after it was discovered that he had joined a group that attempted to stage a coup against the Chairman of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) through the Extraordinary Congress (KLB).
Before returning to the Democrats and joining the group that tried to carry out a coup against AHY, Max is known to have switched political parties by holding the position of Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Prosperous Society Era Party (Emas) for some time.
