Lawyer Senior Mohammad Assegaf died on Tuesday (22/6).
Assegaf has been known as a lawyer who has handled many big-name clients, such as the 2nd President Suharto and former FPI official Rizieq Shihab.
“Yes, that’s right, the funeral will be held this afternoon/evening. It was attended by the nuclear family,” said Assegaf’s daughter, Fifi, when contacted CNNIndonesia.com.
Fifi apologizes when there is a mistake or mistake made by the deceased during his life.
He said that his father had suffered from a stroke for a long time and it had worsened in the last few days.
During his lifetime, Assegaf was a well-known lawyer who had a lot of work in the world of Human Rights (HAM).
He has also served on the Board of Trustees of YLBHI, the organization that oversees a number of LBHs throughout Indonesia.
Various controversies also arose because Assegaf defended many big figures like Suharto when he was involved in cases.
He also defended Rizieq in 2008 until he was convicted of the murder of Munir, Pollycarpus.
