Senior DM day 2: Sandra Morchner and Lothar Fischer shine with top German performances

Two German best performances were the highlights of the second day of the German Senior Individual Championships in Baunatal. Sandra Morchner (W50) over 5,000 meters and Lothar Fischer (M85) in the long jump won the titles with new record performances.

Day 2 of the German Senior Individual Championships in Baunatal started on the track with the male seniors’ hurdle sprints. The most valuable time was run by Jan Schindzielorz (M40; LG Forchheim), who needed 14.47 seconds for the 110 meter hurdles. Daniel Siegel (MTG Mannheim) won the M35 in 15.50 seconds and a little later won the long jump with 6.59 meters. Markus Paquée (LG Rhein-Wied) won the M45 hurdles in 16.56 seconds. Reinhard Gruhn (M55; TuS 09 Erkenschwick) ran over 100 meter hurdles for 15.91 seconds, Klaus-Dieter Hutter (M60; LAC Essingen) scored 16.95 seconds.

Sandra Morchner (running team Kassel) delivered the first highlight of the day over 5,000 meters. As a new W50, she ran a strong 17: 13.40 minutes and increased the eight-year-old German best performance by Silke Schmidt (mettmann-sport) by a good seven seconds. Cornelia Wagener (W65; LC Diabü Eschenburg) was the fastest in the W60-75 race in 21: 34.93 minutes. Seven hours later she also won over 1,500 meters in 5: 51.07 minutes.

German best performance by Lothar Fischer

Dieter Kollhammer (LC Marathonia Berlin) did the same, first winning the 5,000 meter run of the M75 in 22: 02.20 minutes before being victorious over 1,500 meters in 6: 05.86 minutes five hours later. Karl Walter Trümper (LC Rapid Dortmund) was the fastest M80 in 25: 05.86 minutes. Peter Massny (M65; TSV Neustadt) won the M60 / 65 run in 19: 11.67 minutes.

Lothar Fischer (TG Waldsee) waited until the last attempt in the M85 long jump competition until he showed his best jump: 3.74 meters also meant an increase in the German best by nine centimeters. Ulrich Becker (M75; ESV Lok Potsdam) flew to 4.19 meters. Sebastian Strenkert (M45; Eintracht Frankfurt) jumped 6.04 meters.

Siegbert Gnoth (TuS Gildehaus) won his second title in Baunatal in the M80 with 2.40 meters in the pole vault. Hans-Theo Nieder (M70; LG Bitburg-Prüm) reached 1.44 meters to victory in the high jump. Wolfgang Hirt (M75; LAV Bayer Uerdingen / Dormagen) won with 1.37 meters, Eckard Kunigkeit (M65; Stuttgart LC) with 1.49 meters. Günther Widmann (LAC Essingen) flew 1.65 meters in the M50.

Rüdiger Möhring (TSG Bergedorf) was ahead in the hammer throwing of the M55 with 51.01 meters. In the M60, Udo Giehl (TV Alzey) won with 48.17 meters. For Lothar Huchthausen (M85; LG Altmark) there was the next title, this time in the shot put with 10.35 meters. Wolfgang Reuter (LAV Husum) won the M90 ​​with 6.06 meters. Andreas Deuschle (M50; LAC Essingen) convinced with 15.34 meters.

Josef Schaffarzik (M65; EVS Nürnberg marshalling yard) won the javelin throw with 44.92 meters. Christoph Maier (M40; SG DJK Hattersheim) dominated his age group with 55.07 meters. Wolfgang Zimmer (M55; SV Freistett) his with 47.07 meters.

Schilling and Hänßler-Hug title collectors

Tatjana Schilling (W50; TSV Korbach 1850/09) took title number two in Baunatal in the shot put. In the last attempt she caught Carmen Hildebrandt (Ohrdrufer LV; 12.53 m) with 12.55 meters. Only a few minutes later the long jump continued – Tatjana Schilling also won gold here with 5.07 meters. But that’s not all – gold medal number four followed in the early afternoon in 13.52 seconds over 100 meters.

Heike Jörg (LAZ Obernburg-Miltenberg) prevailed against Iris Opitz (LAV Elstertal Bad Köstriz; 13.69 sec) in the W55 in 13.45 seconds. Frauke Viebahn (DJK Annen) won the second title in the W60 in 14.42 seconds. Hurdle winner Olga Becker (ABC Ludwigshafen) was close to second in 14.46 seconds. Sinah Hänßler-Hug (W35; TuS Lörrach-Stetten; 12.75 sec), Dana Prada (W40; LG Ovag Friedberg-Fauerbach; 12.96 sec) and Jennifer Gartmann (W45; LG Westerwald; 13.35 sec) caught up Hurdling gold their second title on Friday over 100 meters. A little later, Sinah Hänßler-Hug took her third title in the high jump with 1.56 meters.

Double victory for Thorsten Poschwatta

In the men’s race, Patrick Hagge (M35; Athletics Club Lübeck) won a wafer-thin 11.39 seconds ahead of Rene Pascal Menk (Athletics Center Wuppertal; 12.40 seconds). Jochen Gippert (M40; TV Herkenrath) prevailed against hurdle winner Jan Schindzielorz (11.40 sec) in 11.02 seconds. Mario Büchter (SV Teuto Riesenbeck) was 11.91 seconds over eight tenths ahead of the runner-up in the M50. Roland Gröger (TopFit Berlin) won in the M55 in 12.18 seconds. Thorsten Poschwatta (M60; VfV Spandau) managed this over 100 meters (12.84 sec) as well as over 400 meters (60.64 sec).

There was also another title for Ingrid Holzknecht (W80; LG Elmshorn) for 19.02 meters with the spear. Wanda Krempl (Sportverein Oberderdingen) was the only starter in the W85 with 9.95 meters. Jennifer Vogt (W35; TSV 1860 Ansbach) let the spear fly to 40.22 meters. Anke Barlage (VfL Löningen) threw only a little shorter in the W40 with 39.18 meters. In the W55, Susanne Strohm (SV Stuttgarter Kickers) won with 35.08 meters, in the W50 Dagmar Suhling (LG Kreis Verden) with 39.64 meters.

Three golds for Grania Leaping Rabbit

Nadine Kant (Hagenower SV) hit the four-kilogram ball the farthest in the female area at 12.78 meters. Sonja Römmert (TV Oberhaugstett) won the W45 with 11.96 meters. Brigitte Bondat (SSV Heidenau) hit the ball to 10.29 meters and dominated the W70.

Grania Leaping Rabbit (W70; Alsfelder Sport-Club) won her third title with 2.86 meters in the long jump. Petra Koliwer (W50; TSV Speyer) won the high jump with 1.52 meters. Petra Herrmann (W60; SG Vorwärts Frankenberg) won her second title in the triple jump with 9.80 meters.

Herbert E. Müller with another title

Anja Ritschel (W75; TV Waldstraße Wiesbaden) ran over 1500 meters in 7: 18.22 minutes and left all W70 starters behind. In the W60, Monika Gippert (TV Herkenrath) ran a brisk 5: 34.83 minutes. Manfred Riedel (Weißenseer SV) was the fastest M80 over 1500 meters in 6: 50.60 minutes. Just three hours later, he also secured the 400 meter title in 85.09 seconds. In the M50, Miguel Molero-Eichwein (Spiridon Schleswig) won in 4: 25.51 minutes over 1500 meters, in the M60 Christian Stoll (TV Waldstraße Wiesbaden) in 4: 47.76 minutes.

Herbert E. Müller (LAV Bayer Uerdingen / Dormagen) ran over 400 meters to his second title in the M90. He needed 113.82 seconds for the stadium lap. M85 winner Martin Müller (LAZ Birkenfeld) ran 97.98 seconds. Friedhelm Adorf (M75; LG Rhein-Wied) also added the 400-meter title in 72.17 seconds to his 100-meter title on Friday. For Karl Dorschner (M70; TV 1848 Coburg) it was the first title in Baunatal in 62.70 seconds after 100 meter silver.

In the 65-year-olds, Reinhard Michelchen (VfL Sindelfingen) finished in 63.17 seconds, almost three seconds before second place. Oliver Kurtz (LG Ovag Friedberg-Fauerbach) won in the M55 in 56.77 seconds. Axel Emmerich (SG Walldorf Astoria) was the fastest M45 in 55.93 seconds. Jan Hentschel (LG Leinfelden-Echterdingen) achieved 52.15 seconds in the M40 and was thus faster than the M35 winner Sebastian Kleiner (TV Graefelfing; 52.33 sec).
