Senegal threatened with sanctions from Fifa against England in the round of 16 World Cup 2022 at Al Bayt Stadium, Al Khor on Sunday (4/12).
FIFA’s disciplinary commission is currently investigating Senegal for allegedly violating the rules of the press conference in front of opponent Ecuador on matchday three of Group A on Tuesday (29/11).
FIFA has confirmed it is investigating the Senegalese Football Federation for failing to send player representatives to a press conference.
It is known, each team must send a head coach and a player representative before the match in the press conference room of the World Cup 2022.
Sport Bible reported that Senegal was represented only by coach Aliou Cisse in a press conference before the match against Ecuador, which lasted about 40 minutes. None of the Senegalese players entered the press conference room.
“The FIFA Disciplinary Commission has initiated proceedings against the Football Federation of Senegal for potential violations of Article 44 of the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup Regulations contained in Article 2.7.2 of the Media and Marketing Regulations and Article 8.5. 3 of the Team Manual,” said FIFA. said in a statement.
“The potential violation relates to the mandatory press conference that took place on November 28 ahead of the World Cup match between Ecuador and Senegal.”
Previously, FIFA had fined Germany for similar violations. Der Panzer was fined around IDR 166 million for violating press conference regulations before the match against Spain.
