Kédougou, Nov 29 (APS) – The Library Without Borders (BSF) offered 840 tablets, video projectors and school kids to the Kédougou academy inspection (IA) on Wednesday, APS noted.
The 840 smartphone tablets are intended for exam candidates in the region. The school projector and kids videos will be made available to the academy inspection schools.
This donation with a total value of 197 million francs was given to the Kédougou academy inspection.
”Today, BSF has just done us a great service, because being able to have digital resources on site in our schools and smartphones for our candidates, really, is an extraordinary thing for our teaching-learning” , appreciated the academy inspector, Mamadou Niang.
He was speaking at the digital resources handover ceremony in the premises of the academy inspectorate. It took place in the presence of the project coordinator of the Bibliothèque sans frontières, Ndèye Haby Ndiaye, and under the chairmanship of the deputy governor in charge of administrative affairs, Georges Samba Faye.
The Kédougou academy inspector welcomed this “major investment” made by BSF. Digital resources will help teachers deliver their lessons correctly and help fill the shortage of teachers in certain schools, he said.
Mamadou Niang invited elementary school teachers to secure and maintain the equipment.
”It is a material that must be carefully guarded, over which we must watch and which must be used with the greatest respect and also with the attention to detail required to make it last for our students”, a- he advised.
The Library Without Borders has sealed a partnership with the Kédougou academy inspection to improve the quality of education through digital media.
”It is to strengthen students, improve their academic performance and their digital skills so that [cela soit] beneficial to their personal development and their citizenship,” explained the BSF program coordinator, Ndèye Haby Ndiaye.
She announced that 45 elementary school teachers and principals from the Kédougou academy inspection will benefit from training sessions on the use of digital tools.
The deputy governor of Kédougou in charge of administrative affairs, Georges Samba Faye thanked Library Without Borders for providing the academy with digital resources. This will, according to him, make knowledge very accessible for students in public schools in the Kédougou region.
