Senegal/arrest of Ousmane Sonko: Siaka Barry’s MPPD party sounds the alarm (statement)

MPDG STATEMENT ON REPRESSION ON ALLIED PARTY IN SENEGAL:

Dear friends !

It is with real astonishment that we learn this morning of the barbaric and shameful kidnapping of our brother, friend and ally Ousmane Sonko by the police, when he surrendered freely and without resistance to a summons from the Senegalese justice.

This umpteenth provocation by the regime of President Macky Sall against the Senegalese coalitions fighting for democracy and alternation, under the leadership of PASTEF, undoubtedly reflects a certain reluctance of the retrograde forces swarming here and there in Dakar. and in Navarres, toiling away to dig the tomb of democracy in Senegal while clinging desperately to a hypothetical dream of a third term for an increasingly unrecognizable Macky Sall.

President Ousmane Sonko, in his capacity as a founding member of our Coalition, the Inter-African Progressive (IAP) can resolutely count on the constant and infallible support of our party the MPDG in these difficult moments of his fight for a more democratic Senegal. and more sovereign.

The aspiration of African youth to a more controlled destiny, to a more assumed History, within a totally uninhibited and respected Africa, remains inalienable and irrefutable.

The twilight of puppet regimes is on the horizon while the dawn of a new Africa is now rising through an intelligent revolution led by a new generation inheriting the impetuous ardor of the founding fathers.

Force to Comrade Ousmane Sonko!

Strength to the African youth of Senegal!

Glory to Africa!

Conakry, March 16, 2023.

Siaka Barry

Chairman of the MPDG
