Senegal and Cape Verde Advance to African Nations Cup Pre-Quarters; Mohamed Salah Injured

Anyama (Ivory Coast): Reigning champions Senegal and Cape Verde have advanced to the pre-quarters of the African Nations Cup football.

Seganal secured the knockout round by defeating Cameroon in Group C (3-1). It is the team’s second win in a row. Ismaila Sarr (16), Habib Diallo (71) and Sadio Mane (90) scored for Senegal. Jean-Charles Castelletto (83) scored for Cameroon.

Cape Verde also reached the prequarters with their second win in Group B. They beat Mozambique 3-0. Beba (32), Ryan Mendes (51) and Kevin Pina (69) scored.

Meanwhile, Egypt drew with Ghana (2-2). Along with the draw, superstar Mohamed Salah’s injury was a double blow for Egypt. Salah will be out for at least two matches.

Omar Marmousa (69) and Mostafa Mohamed (74) scored for Egypt. Mohammed Kudus scored a brace (45 and 71) for Ghana.
