The ice has barely had time to melt in several places, but now it’s just a matter of steeling yourself again.
The Meteorological Institute has indeed issued a yellow danger warning for snow in Eastern Norway and parts of Agder.
The notice applies from 1pm on Saturday until 1pm on Sunday.
– Quite a lot of snow is expected, says state meteorologist Dina Stabell to Dagbladet on Thursday evening.
– Spectacle
In the lowlands, there can be between 10 and 20 centimeters of snow, depending on where you are. In higher-lying areas, it can reach up to 30 centimetres, she warns.
At the coast, this precipitation is expected to come as rain.
– You have to calculate a little extra time when you are going out and travel, drive according to the conditions and follow road signs. It is also possible that mountain passes may be closed as a result of snow drifts, says Stabell.
Snowflake occurs when there is a lot of snow in combination with strong winds.
The meteorologists also recommend protecting vulnerable installations and objects that cannot withstand the expected amount of snow.
– It’s going to be a disaster, says on-duty meteorologist Håkon Mjelstad to the newspaper Glåmdalen.
– Calm down
Nor does Western Norway escape the low pressure, which will announce its arrival in this part of the country on Friday.
There will also be some precipitation, according to the meteorologist.
– It will probably come as rain or sleet in the lowlands in Western Norway, and as snow in the high altitudes. Then it calms down until Saturday afternoon.
Then the precipitation comes in from the west – as sleet or rain in the lowlands and snow in higher areas. It will subside on Sunday, according to Stabell.
– Not great weather
She also has no good news for the rest of the country, but can reassure them that they will get away cheaper.
– In central Norway, the weather will be slightly better, especially from Saturday. There will be sleet or snow showers along the coast.
That will also be the case in Northern Norway, says the meteorologist.
– North of the city gets a lot of stay, but the weather won’t be great in some places, it seems.
