If North Korea sends its troops to help Russia in the war against Ukraine, it will fundamentally change the shape of this war. This was said by the military expert and former commander of the “Aidar” battalion Yevgeny Dikiy to FREEDOM TV.

According to him, the North Korean army will become “beloved” for Moscow. At the same time, he called “very unpleasant” the prospect of North Korean troops appearing on the front in Ukraine.

He recalled that the North Korean projectiles delivered to Russia were very bad – almost one in four did not explode, many exploded even when launched. But the number of these shells transferred to Moscow has already reached three million, and Ukraine’s European allies have not yet reached one million shells per year.

“I think the same story could happen with the soldiers. They will be of low quality, but if the decision is made that North Korea enters the war, the number could be quite significant. But this will change everything. A direct North Korean military entry into the war would mean a different format for this conflict. And this, of course, will cause a completely different reaction from the West,” said Yevgeny Dikiy.

Dickey noted that the West has so far tried to do everything to prevent this war from becoming a global war, but to be local. And these efforts to avoid escalation are very expensive for Ukraine, the veteran says. “But if suddenly half a million or a million North Korean soldiers come here, that means the whole non-escalation policy has not worked at all,” he said.

Earlier this week, South Korean intelligence said it was more likely that North Korean soldiers were killed in Ukraine, where they were sent to help Russia. Seoul expects Pyongyang to send more troops to the Ukrainian front to help its Russian ally.
