Send small items for investment. ČSOB also has a card machine

A new service called ČSOB Drobné will allow people to invest in everyone card payment. If you want, you can have them rounded to the nearest higher multiple of twenty crowns. When 300 crowns are automatically accumulated in this way, they will be transferred to a mutual fund ČSOB Wealth.

For example, if you pay CZK 123 with a card, the bank will round it to CZK 140, so the investment will cost CZK 17. When paying CZK 456, the amount will be rounded to CZK 460 and CZK 4 will be invested. If the amount to be paid is exactly a multiple of CZK 20, it is not rounded in any way.

Interested parties can start the ČSOB Drobné service free of charge, investment to the fund are without entry fees. “The ČSOB Wealth Fund has been beating inflation for a long time. In the last ten years, it has an average annual performance of 3.96 percent, ”says Martin Vašek, Executive Director responsible for investment products.

“The fund invests in world-renowned brands – such as Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, Unilever, Coca Cola, Novo Nordisk and Novartis. Its establishment is intended for prudent investors, “adds Vašek.

According to him, the new ČSOB Drobné service is still unparalleled on the Czech market, calling it a revolution in putting money aside for everyone who has account a card.

However, it offers a similar possibility Equa bank. It was launched under the name Small Investments two years ago. With each payment by card – in the store and online – you can save small amounts from 10 to 50 CZK. When they reach at least CZK 100, they will then be transferred to mutual fund. You have several to choose from. Equa collects an entry fee of 0.5% for small investments, but in practice it adapts to the competition for many months of the year and temporarily forgives it.

ČSOB emphasizes that it is the only one that actually offers rounding – with the same principle as you previously put the remaining small items from your purchase in the cash register, for example, only two crowns. On the other hand, Equa is not about rounding, but the client chooses a fixed amount of 10 to 50 crowns, ie basically the same.

A savings account works similarly mSavings v mBank, which so far offers interest of 1.2%. You can either round each card payment or add ten percent to it.
