This is a welcome boost for Jean-Michel Aulas. Still at the front in an attempt to relaunch the championship, the president of OL found new political allies. This Monday evening, 6 senators tabled two amendments (numbers 242 and 243) to the bill “Urgent provisions facing the epidemic of covid-19” aimed at letting the scientific committee decide for a resumption at national competitions football, and federations and leagues to decide whether to end the season or not.
The two senators who launched this amendment, Michel Savin (Isère, LR) and Claude Kern (Bas-Rhin, UDI), are joined by Catherine Di Folco, Élisabeth Lamure, François-Noël Buffet and Michel Forissier, all four senators and LR senators in the department … of the Rhône. Together, they would like the scientific committee to submit an opinion before June 30 on the possibility of resuming professional and amateur sport in order to end the 2019/2020 sports season. If this bill goes to the Senate, it will come back at second reading to the National Assembly to be debated there, but its chances are infinite since the government has given a contrary opinion.
