US Senators Richard Blumenthal and Edward Markey introduced the “Passenger Bill of Rights and the law prohibiting airlines from charging ridiculous fees” to expand protections for air travellers.
The bill would require airlines to pay at least $1,350 to passengers who are denied boarding due to an overbooked flight, offer ticket refunds and alternative transportation for delayed flights and that they prohibit airlines from further reducing the size of aircraft seats pending new regulations.
