“As a woman, mother, wife, as daughters, my children were shocked”Samia Ghali told the hearing Friday morning.
The former senator, now second deputy mayor of Marseille, deplored that for two years, the video has not been removed from Stéphane Ravier’s Facebook account. “He could have withdrawn it, extracted from the conference this hurtful, insulting part, he did not do it”.
‘I cannot accept as a woman that one comes to touch my deepest intimacy. My children, my husband are embarrassed about this trial, my family is embarrassed “, she added, referring since to death threats and insults on social networks.
Stéphane Ravier’s lawyer denounced “a politico-media play”. For Me Pierre-Vincent Lambert it was a “calambour around the letter G”, excluding any outrageous or insulting character.
“It is the values of society that are under attack”, declared Me François de Cambiaire, lawyer for Samia Ghali. He requested the removal of the video, the mention of the possible conviction of Stéphane Ravier on his Facebook page and damages.
The Marseille correctoinnel court reserved its judgment on May 11.
During a debate evening in April 2019 in Marseille in the company of polemicist Eric Zemmour, the elected RN Stéphane Ravier, candidate for mayor of Marseille, referred to Samia Ghali when speaking of her as “the senator of Marseille Madame Samia G., (…) the G point of Marseille “, to the laughter of the assembly.
A bailiff’s report had been established to authenticate the video of the incident.
[#balancetonporc] Angry and hurt as a woman, wife and mother by the vulgar and indecent words of Stéphane Ravier. How far will he allow himself to go? Sexism is a crime. I will take legal action. #stopsexism #MeToo pic.twitter.com/0Z7LbVQmkr

The elected representative of the National Rally is obviously used to this kind of outing. At the material time, he was already the target of a complaint of this type by an elected Marseille environmentalist.
Lydia Frentzel, elected EELV at the town hall of Marseille, had also lodged a complaint against the president of the RN group at the municipal council of Marseille. In the middle of the city council meeting, Stéphane Ravier had proposed to his opponent to “meet at the same hotel, the same day, at the same time”.
