Version of the intervention by Senator Kenia López Rabadán, referring to two issues: the death of Juan Arvizu, a journalist for “El Universal”, and the opinion of the joint commissions of Finance and Public Credit, and Second Legislative Studies, by which reforms the General Law of Credit Titles and Operations, the General Law of Organizations and Auxiliary Activities of Credit, and the Law of Protection and Defense of the User of Financial Services
Thank you President.
It seems that because of technology, he did not hear that I was requesting the floor regarding the death of our beloved Juan Arvizu.
I am going to divide this speech into the two issues, of course in the opinion, but first I would like to say, on behalf of the PAN parliamentary group, that we very much regret this departure of our dear Juan.
Juan was a mentor, teacher, guide and companion to many journalists in this country. Juan dedicated almost forty years of his life to be able to transmit to the citizens what we politicians in Mexico do.
It seems to me that it is necessary to recognize, from the Senate of the Republic, the importance of his career. The height of view of an ethical, honorable journalist.
Say of course to his family, to his wife Micaela, that we accompany her in her pain. Tell your children that we will always remember their father’s work in this Senate of the Republic.
Juan accompanied this legislature and many other legislatures. Juan was honored by the Senate of the Republic and was evidently recognized as… (Fallas of origin) of journalism.
It is clear that, for El Universal, his journalistic house, it is an irreparable loss.
Tell his family, his friends, his co-workers and the newspaper, that of course from the Senate of the Republic we send them a fraternal hug.
I hope the Senate of the Republic has a high view, I hope it is not politicized, I hope we can find, among all the members of the parliamentary groups, an agreement to put the name of Juan Arvizu forever, forever, remembering his work, in the facilities of the Senate of the Republic.
It seems to me that this is something that even not only the legislators, but also the source, the journalists, their colleagues, who love it, respect it and will always remember it, we are requesting in a comprehensive manner.
A hug to your family, a hug to your friends, a hug to El Universal,
Regarding the referential opinion, President, I would like to inform you that the parliamentary group will vote in abstention, and will vote in abstention because it has already been said, it must be understood that this Senate of the Republic is plural, this Senate of the Republic should take into account the initiatives of other parliamentary groups, which not only pay for the perfection of the law, but also seek improvement for Mexicans in one of the problems that most afflict our country today and that is the lack of money in the pocket of Mexicans.
Today the president said “ya chole” and we also want to say “ya chole”. “Ya chole” with the lack of money in the pocket of Mexicans, “ya chole” with the lack of vaccines, “ya chole” with femicides.
Hopefully this Senate of the Republic stops only ruling things of the majority group and also pay attention to the initiatives of the other political parties.
The National Action Party has presented initiatives on this issue and evidently they continue to wait in the opinion commissions for a plural and inclusive vision.
Thank you very much, President.
