The Senator of Morena, Lucia Trasviña, announced the cancellation of virtual forum to whom he was as an expert guest to Jaime Maussan.
“I deeply appreciate the interest in attending and disseminating this forum, however, I see the need to CANCEL THE FORUM,” wrote the legislator on Twitter.
This comes after the senator from Baja California Sur promoted attendance at the conference on social media to discuss an “alternative” drug to treat Covid-19.
I deeply appreciate the interest in attending and disseminating said forum, however, I see the need to CANCEL THE FORUM.
As until today, I will continue working for and for the welfare of my state and the people of Mexico. pic.twitter.com/lngIidqcet

An hour before the forum was held, the senator posted a letter on her Twitter account, in which she stated that the virtual forum had the objective of promoting “dialogue, debate and exchange of constructive ideas and to give an open voice to the citizenship”.
“However, in the face of misinformation, mismanagement of the press, I see the need to cancel the forum, not only to stop various controversies regarding the issue, derived from lack of information, but also so that public opinion does not deviate of the central theme of health “.
The senator also acknowledged that we must wait for the Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks (Cofepris) “to issue a resolution.”
What the legislator did not mention is that despite the fact that the drug is promoted on social networks, on October 28, the Undersecretary of Prevention and Health Promotion, Hugo Lopez-Gatell responded to the developer of the drug, an injectable solution, that there are formal procedures to evaluate their effectiveness.
Last week, in Coahuila and promoted by another Morena legislator, Miroslava Sánchez Galván, the application of the drug was promoted, which still does not have the authorization of Cofepris, according to what local media reported at the time.
On September 14, through the profile @InfodemiaMx of the Mexican Public Broadcasting System, which is “false that Biotiquin Hydrotene helps fight Covid-19”:
“The Ministry of Health reported that this product has not been applied legally in the health sector. Therefore, it is recommended not to self-medicate. He emphasized that only hospitals have treatments for diseases.”
Three medical specialists were invited to this forum, Juan Alfonso García Urbina, who on the Biotiquin Maussan page appears as one of the developers of Hydrotene, a brand considered as “food that can restore the natural functions of our body.”
In a video posted last June, Maussan Flora, who was featured on social media as a “journalist and researcher,” promoted the alleged and “possible Mexican vaccine that opens a light of hope for thousands of people.”
In response to the senator, various users on Twitter criticized whoever promoted and disseminated said forum, some of them ironically alluding to the UFO phenomenon that Jaime Maussan is characterized by.
He is a fraud, senator, in particular the “journalist” …
