The father of the Senate Majority Leader passed away Wednesday night, the New York senator announced on his Twitter account.
Democrat Chuck Schumer confirmed that his father Abe Schumer died at the age of 98.
“My 98-year-old father passed away tonight,” Schumer wrote. “In many ways, he embodied the older generation. He took whatever was thrown at him no matter how hard it was, did his job, never complained. An amazing husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather. We love him and will miss him.”
