Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go has expressed support for the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s (DILG) plan to investigate police officials who may be linked to a billion-peso drug haul. Senator Go has filed Senate Bill 422, which aims to provide free legal assistance to any officer or enlisted personnel of the Philippine National Police and Armed Forces of the Philippines facing charges related to their official duty. This bill is meant to provide aid to officers who may have been wrongfully accused in the past, and to ensure that they are given legal representation.
