Senator and former party leader Van der Linden also left FvD | Inland

Van der Linden took over the chairmanship of FvD leader Thierry Baudet in recent weeks, because the party was in crisis. This weekend he wrote a letter to his co-directors containing his “grievances” about the course of events. In it he also announced that he would terminate his membership.

Van der Linden does want to stay in the Senate, because he still supports the party program of FvD. In addition, due to all the shifts, it is by no means certain whether there would be a successor for him, because there may be no one on the FvD list who wants to be in the senate. That issue also contributed to Van der Linden’s decision to remain in the senate. “Otherwise we will soon have the situation that a seat in the senate will remain empty.”

Whether Van der Linden will join the split-off FvD members in the senate, who together form the Van Pareren fraction, remains to be seen. The group of former FvD member Henk Otten says they do not want to work with Van der Linden.
