Senator and ex-secretary of Health of Soledad end to the fists – Political Parties – Politics

In the midst of the crisis due to the spread of the covid-19, Senator Eduardo Pulgar and former Secretary of Health of Soledad (Atlántico) Luis Fábregas staged an altercation that ended in fists this weekend in Barranquilla, according to witnesses to the events.

According to what was known, both began to argue about the management given to the coronavirus emergency in the municipality of Soledad and at one point others went to blows.

Fábregas, who had been serving as Health Secretary, was declared unsubsistent by the city’s mayor, Rodolfo Ucrós, apparently for alleged mismanagement regarding the spread of covid-19

The decision was announced by decree 199 of June 26, 2020, in which it is stated that the removal of the official is carried out in order to “guarantee an efficient provision of the service of the local Ministry of Health.”

The altercation between the two would have started when they began to discuss issues of handling the hiring of the covid-19, and from one moment to the next they went to blows. Given this fact, the escorts of Pulgar and those of Fábregas were forced to intervene to separate them and prevent the quarrel from passing to older; however, the neighbors – upon hearing the scandal – called the Police to report the fact.

In a statement issued this Monday, the doctor Fábregas points out: “I was verbally and physically attacked by Senator Eduardo Pulgar Daza, who also verbally threatened me with his power in the control agencies.”

The former official added that he empowered attorney Jaime Lombana to initiate legal actions against Pulgar.

EL TIEMPO tried to communicate with the senator; however, it did not respond.
