Senate Delegation from Dominican Republic Announces Second Visit of New York Senators to Strengthen Cooperation

He Senate from Republic Dominican announced this Friday the second visit of one delegation official of the Senate of the State of NYas part of the action plan to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between both legislative bodies.

The meeting will be this Monday, August 21 and will be led by the new president of the Senate Dominican Ricardo de los Santos. The legislators Dominicans and New Yorkers will exchange experiences and take stock of the common objectives achieved, since the foundations were laid in August 2022 to strengthen relations between the two entities.

According to a statement from the Dominican Upper House, the delegation of legislators of NY will be integrated by Will Barcleyleader of the Republican minority in the State Assembly of NY; Senator Luis Sepúlveda; Vice President of the Assembly of NY, Phil Ramos; and Assemblymembers Latoya Joyner, Maritza Dávila, Kenny Burgos, Manny De Los Santos, Al Taylor, Jaime Williams, Chantel Jackson, and Jake Blumecranz.

In the meeting will also participate representatives of the Police Department of NYSupreme Court judges, members of the Association of Dominican Veterans, as well as the Dominican ambassador in Washington, Sonia Guzmán and the consul general in NYchose Jaquez.

The agenda

Besides the visit al Senate from Republicthe delegation has contemplated a work agenda that includes meetings with the president of the Republic, Luis Abinader; the Minister of Foreign Relations, Roberto Álvarez and the mayoress of the National District, Carolina Mejía.

In addition, the commission will travel to the Dominican-Haitian border to learn about the dynamics between the two countries through the Dajabón province, an activity that will have the support of the Ministry of Defense.
