Former Lokomotiv sports director Eric Stoffelshaus shared his opinion on whether to renew the contract with the head coach of the railway, Yuri Semin.

– In my opinion, Semin did not deserve such an attitude.

Yes, I watched the matches of the Champions League, and I think that the composition of Lokomotiv is able to leave the group. But there is an internal championship, where the team entered the main European cup tournament for two years in a row, and now it is in second place, giving a direct place in the Champions League. And this is without reinforcing the composition. What could be the questions?

Or does someone think it’s so easy to find a coach whose level will allow you to fight for the first or second line in the table? Believe me, this is not so simple. There are not many such specialists on the market, they are usually in demand and will not wait for the weather by the sea.

How do you imagine this dialogue? “Wait until the end of the season, a board of directors will be held there, they will see how the current coach is doing, discuss several candidates, including yours, and then make a decision”?

Not a single serious trainer will agree to such conditions, will not wait until the last, then to participate in the competition, ”said Stoffelshaus.
