Semih Kaya announced that he quit football with his social media account.
In his statement, the 31-year-old player said, “Today I am here to explain one of the biggest decisions of my life. I decided to say goodbye to my 20-plus years of passion, my professional football career. I was born in Yenikent, I grew up in Galatasaray. I won trophies. I played football in Europe, I won awards. In short, I accomplished the most important things in my life with football. At the age of 15, I took my first step to Florya, at the age of 16 Ali Sami Yen stepped in the stands. Remembering the time I heard will always give me strength. I will be proud to have worn the national team jersey for many years. I have never knowingly or willfully hurt any opponent in my life. I am very peaceful because I struggled enough to leave marks all over my body. To my family, who made great sacrifices for me on this journey , whose support I always felt behind me and I would like to thank my wife, who loves under all circumstances, my manager, whom I see as a family, my teammates, friends, coaches, club presidents, club managers and club employees, and most importantly all football lovers, for whom I sweat for the same jersey.” used his statements.
