The world billiard world is stirring up again as Turkey’s flagship player, Semi Saigner (58), signed a contract with the Korean Professional Billiards (PBA) tour.

On the night of the 24th (Korean time), Cygner wrote “Signed with PBA” on his SNS account and posted a post with a picture.

In the photo, Cygner has his thumbs up right after signing a contract with the PBA in his practice room.

Cygner’s entry into the PBA is giving a considerable shock to the UMB (World Carom Federation) system, which is already shaking.

Currently, UMB, where a large number of representative players such as Daniel Sanchez (Spain), Choi Seong-won, Cygner, and Murat Nasi Choklu have left, is in an emergency.

Also, the situation is the same for Turkiyeh, where Cygner, Choklu, and Chenet are likely to advance into the PBA.

Since Turkiye hosts the 3-Cushion Billiards World Cup every year and is scheduled to host the World Championship this year, this player’s departure is expected to have a big impact.

Saigner, who has been recognized as a player comparable to the ‘four kings of 3-cushion’, is the spiritual supporter of Turkey and the team championship champion who won the World 3-Cushion Team Championship held in March of this year.

At this year’s team championships, Cygner and Typhoon Tasdemir jointly won Turkiye’s third consecutive title and seventh career title.

In 2003, Cygner became the first Turkiye player to become the 3-Cushion World Champion, and in the 3-Cushion Billiards World Cup, since his first win in 1994, he has won the championship and runner-up seven times each.

After running its heyday from the mid-late 1990s to the mid-2000s, it suddenly boycotted the competition in 2007 and had a 7-year hiatus.

At the time, Saigner protested against the corruption-stained Turkish billiards federation executive and boycotted it with the player’s life, but returned in 2014 and started again from the bottom, and after a while he vomited his spirit to rise to the top of the world.

The current world ranking is 10th, but before the corona, it was recognized as the world’s strongest place in the top 5.

Meanwhile, billiards fans who heard the news of Cygner’s PBA contract welcomed it greatly and expressed their anticipation for the PBA tour that will start soon.
