Unexpected goals and results were experienced in the second leg of the quarterfinals of the Liga de Ascenso Apertura tournament.
Juticalpa FC lived up to expectations and remain heavy favorites for the title, advancing to the semi-finals after beating Oro Verde 4-0.
The match took place on Saturday evening in the city of Juticalpa and the “canecheros” who had drawn goalless in the first leg, overwhelmed the team of Santa Rita, Yoro with goals from Georgie Welcome, Juan Capeluto, Darwin Andino and Cristian “Pin Gutiérrez.
Those led by Nerlyn Membreño will face Meluca FC in the semi-finals, a team they surprised by eliminating Parrillas One.
Meluca lost 2-0 to the Lima team in the first leg, but in the second leg played at the Cornelio Santos stadium in Campamento, Olancho, they won 4-0 and advanced to the first semifinal.
Goals for Olancho’s side were scored twice by Raúl Benítez, Sebastián Arrollo and Larson Ordóñez.
For its part, El Triunfo’s Inter, Choluteca, lost 2-1 away to San Juan in a match played at the Domingo Ortega stadium in Quimistán, Santa Bárbara, and on difference in the first leg where they won 4-0 , the Southerners advanced to the semifinals.
The last team to qualify for the penultimate stage of the tournament was Real Juventud de Santa Bárbara, superior of Santa Rosa FC in the series.
In the first leg the “patepluma” prevailed 3-2 and in the rematch held in La Másica, Atlántida, they won with a score of 2-1, proving their superiority and increasing their bonuses to win the Apertura tournament.
