The Navy-Navy Secretariat of Mexico (Semar) commits to the governors whose entities have coastal zones to act “as a strategic ally within the framework of maritime security and the protection of national interests, in close coordination with the three orders of government”.
The above after Admiral Raymundo Pedro Morales Ángeles held meetings with various governors and “ratified his commitment to the protection of national maritime interests, through his presence and collaboration in all the states of the country that have coasts.”
The naval institution noted that it maintains a constant effort to strengthen cooperation with federal, state and municipal authorities, “guaranteeing an efficient response to any challenge on the coasts of our country. This joint work is fundamental for the success of security and development policies that seek to guarantee the peace and well-being of the population.
“Strengthening inter-institutional collaboration, especially in matters of maritime security and protection, is a priority for this secretariat; understanding that only through a joint effort with local and federal authorities can a positive impact be achieved in solving the problems that affect coastal communities and the nation as a whole.”
Among the meetings that Admiral Morales Ángeles has held are Mara Lezama, from Quintana Roo; María del Pilar Ávila, Baja California; Indira Vizcaíno, Colima; Alfonso Durazo, Sonora, and from Tamaulipas, Américo Villarreal.
