The police received notification of the incident at 15.15 and immediately called guards to take care of the many curious.
– There is good weather and a lot of people in the area, so many went maybe a little thoughtlessly close. The guards arrived and did a great job of creating some distance to the harness, says operations manager Guri Sandnes in the Oslo police district to NTB.
The police are keeping an eye on the situation, but have deliberately not wanted to create more fuss by going down with patrols.
– We have talked to Viltnemda, and their advice was to let the seal pup rest, so that the mother can possibly call on it. Then we have to let nature sort it out, says Sandes.
