Trade Minister Muhammad Lutfi threatens producers or companies cooking oil who sells above price Rp14 thousand per liter will be charged penalty until the revocation of the business license.
Through this policy, cooking oil, either simple or premium packaging, is required to be sold for Rp. 14,000 per liter. In the early stages or starting Wednesday (19/1), the policy will take effect in modern retail and will be followed by traditional markets with a deadline of 1 week after the provisions are ratified.
“Producers/exporters who do not comply with the provisions will be subject to sanctions in the form of freezing or revocation of permits. We remind the government to take very firm steps,” he said at a press conference, Wednesday (19/1) night.
Lutfi also ensured that his party would bring violations in the form of fraud, fraud, or others to the legal process if violations were found in the field.
“We remind anyone who commits fraud, misappropriation, or commits any unlawful act, the Indonesian government will proceed to the legal process,” he explained.
Lutfi added that the government in collaboration with BPDPKS disbursed funds of Rp. 7.6 trillion to finance subsidies for 250 million liters of packaged cooking oil per month or the equivalent of 1.5 billion liters for 6 months for the community.
On the same occasion, he also reminded the public not to make panic buying because the government has guaranteed the supply and stock of cooking oil at a price of Rp. 14,000 per liter to meet the needs of the entire community.
