The list of safe countries has grown significantly, because according to the common European decision, the threshold of the “green list” in Latvia has also been increased from 50 to 75 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

With the discovery of 20 new cases last day, the two-week cumulative rate of Covid-19 per 100,000 inhabitants in Latvia has dropped from 80.6 to 72.3, but this has not yet allowed Latvia to get on the list of “green countries” that would allow lower movement restrictions.

Consequently, no immigrant from Estonia, Switzerland, Norway, Croatia, Monaco, Slovakia, Italy, Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic, Liechtenstein, Bulgaria, Hungary, Finland, Poland, Romania, Iceland, Malta, San Marino needs to observe self-isolation when entering Latvia. and the Vatican, to which Lithuania has now been added, Sweden, Belgium, France and Luxembourg.

Taking into account the changed procedure, travelers entering or returning to Latvia who have a vaccination or disease or so-called Covid-19 certificate do not have to comply with self-isolation from any EU / EEA country included in the green or yellow list.

On the other hand, those who do not have a Covid-19 certificate must observe self-isolation in Latvia after entering from Denmark, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Slovenia, Greece, Andorra, Ireland, Cyprus, Portugal and Monaco.

Spain and Portugal have the highest Covid-19 cumulative rates of 120.7 and 124 cases respectively, while Lithuania had a cumulative rate of 113.3 last week, falling to 61.1 cases, allowing Lithuania to move out of the yellow or high-risk EU / EEA to be included in the green list of low-risk countries with a low risk to public health.

According to the information published by the SPKC, the lowest cumulative rates are in the Vatican and San Marino – 0 and 2.9 cases, respectively.

Overall, the EU-EEA cumulative average continues to decline, reaching 51.2 cases. A week ago, it was 71.6 cases per 100,000 population.

The SPKC is calling on the public to be vaccinated, as it remains the safest and most effective form of protection against severe forms of the disease and reduces the spread of Covid-19 infection in the community.

It has already been reported that persons vaccinated against Covid-19 who have entered Latvia from any EU, EEA country, Switzerland or Great Britain will no longer have to comply with the self-isolation requirement by approving amendments to “Epidemiological safety measures to control the spread of Covid-19 infection”. .
