Selenskyj in front of 100,000 concert visitors in Vienna: “We continue to fight”

A new video message from President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was broadcast at the benefit concert for Ukrainian refugees on Vienna’s Heldenplatz. Disappointing: The same speech was apparently shown in different cities – and it wasn’t live. Concert-goers criticized: “It’s really not going well.”

Zelenskyj commented on images from the war of what had happened since the invasion began on February 24. Again he was combative: “We continue to fight.”

It’s about peace for all of Ukraine and a normal life. “The nation rose up” for the sake of peace and to live a normal life. “A month ago we were living a different life.” But today he also sees the “fear of politicians” in Europe.

Now it is important to support Ukraine in its defensive struggle. It’s also about freedom. “More sanctions against Russia” and help for the Ukrainian refugees are also needed. “You will come home. We will rebuild Ukraine.”

The President of Ukraine named the rescue of civilians in contested areas as another important concern. “We need humanitarian corridors.”

Supposedly 100,000 visitors attended the concert at Heldenplatz. The mask requirement was not observed.
