In recent months, the 34-year-old pop star and the 32-year-old actress have not spent as much time together as they used to. In fact, they have not been seen together since they Golden Globes in January. You know, the same awards ceremony when they were caught gossiping about Kylie Jenner And Timothée Chalamet or Selena’s two friends “getting together!” LOLz!
We have seen Tay several times with her other celebrity friends, even in the midst of her hectic Epoch Tour schedule – but it seems that she hasn’t hung out with Selena at all since the Globes! The Calm down The artist didn’t even show up to Taylor’s party at her Rhode Island home in August! So what’s going on between them? Has their friendship reached a crisis?
According to a source for Learn more on Saturday, the reason we haven’t seen Taylor and Selena together in a while is because the Rare Beauty founder feels like an “outsider” in the friend group! Plus, she reportedly doesn’t want to hang out with Tay’s other friends, as Blake Lively or Brittany Mahomes! The insider claimed:
“Selena feels like she’s outgrown Taylor’s circle of friends. She has no desire to date Blake, Ice Spice, Brittany or any of those girls. In many ways, she feels like an outsider now. She’s not a cheerleader and never wanted to be one.”

And to be honest, we’re highly skeptical that the reason Taylor and Selena haven’t been together is because the actress doesn’t want to be around the Grammy winner’s other friends – or because her friends don’t like each other! Is there a chance that Selena doesn’t want to interact with the other members of the squad? Sure! But we just don’t see that happening between them! Not after over a decade of friendship!
They are most likely just busy! Something that happens when the two are successful in their careers! Taylor was on tour almost the entire year! And when she wasn’t performing, she tried to spend time with Travis, especially before he started with the NFL season. In the meantime, Selena has been working on Only murders in the building, Rare beautyand other projects while also making time for her own boyfriend!
So don’t worry, Swifties and Selenators! Taylor and Selena’s friendship is not on its way to an end – even if the first source makes it seem that way! Even a second source for the outlet pointed out that the two currently have a very hectic schedule:
“Life, in a good way, is why Taylor and Selena don’t hang out as much anymore. Taylor is on the biggest tour ever and trying to juggle that with meeting Travis. Selena is busy with Only Murders in the Building and her relationship with Benny. There just aren’t enough hours in the day to hang out together.”
Although they haven’t met, their friendship hasn’t suffered! The insider emphasized:
“It’s one of those friendships where, if they were in the same room, no matter how much time has passed, they would pick up right where they left off. They’ll probably see each other again in the future at awards shows or if they happen to be in the same city, and maybe go out to dinner together.”
