Selena Gomez joins Bloomberg’s list of super-millionaires

Selena Gomez, the charming actress and singer who has enchanted Barney the purple dinosaur and Justin Bieber, has joined a truly elite club this Friday.

At 32 years old, she has managed to amass a fortune of 1.3 billion dollars, which means that as of today she is the newest member of Bloomberg’s list of super millionaires.

With almost three decades of artistic career, Gomez has reached this point in her life thanks to the fact that five years ago, despite the bad news about her health, she decided to become businesswoman and founded Rare Beauty, a makeup manufacturer and marketer.

According to Bloomberg, the daughter of a Mexican immigrant has a stake in the company worth just over $1 billion, which puts her on the list of successful self-made women, alongside her friend Taylor Swift and fellow singer Rihanna.

Her face and figure are part of various advertising campaigns that also give her million-dollar dividends, such as those she maintains with the brands Louis Vuitton, Coach and Puma.

Curiously, she doesn’t receive that much in dividends for her work in Hollywood. For the fourth season of the hit Disney+ series “Only Murders in the Building,” in which she co-stars with legends Steve Martin and Martin Short, she received just $6 million – a pittance compared to what she earns as an entrepreneur.

Despite being critical of the damaging effects of social media on self-esteem, especially for young women, Gomez is the most followed woman on Instagram with 424 million fans, ahead of Kylie Jenner and Swift.
