But she plays this role with surprising accuracy. A real character from Allen’s universe. But as always, the director puts heart in his films and transcribes himself. The male character is followed and deconstructed for a long time. If it sounds simple at first, it isn’t.
He also evokes the problems between a son and his mother and the incomprehension that can sometimes be. But unfortunately, A rainy day in New York leaves a little bitter taste. The film ends in a rather frustrating way. We would have liked a different ending.
But Woody Allen won’t let not necessarily the place for a happy ending yet fairly predictable. A fair return to reality which echoes the director, banished from New York since the last events. In any case, Selena Gomez is bright in this film.
