Now the actress has announced that she is deleting her Instagram account. In a post that has since been deleted, she writes:
– I’m taking a break and deleting my Instagram account. I’m finished. I do not support any of what is happening, writes Gomez in the stories post.
Like many others, she has experienced that there can be uproar from sticking her hand into the hornet’s nest that is the Israel/Gaza conflict.
She apparently did not take a position on either party, but wrote that her heart is broken by seeing “hate, violence and terror”.
– People being tortured or killed or any expression of hatred against any group is terrible. We must protect ALL people, especially children, and stop the violence for good, she wrote in the post.
– It makes me sick. I wish I could change the world, but an Instagram post won’t allow that to happen, she continued.
Something most people would probably agree with?
But no, there was still noise, writes TMZ. Many accused her of not doing everything she can to help people in need, and she was also accused of trying to play the victim.
The Instagram account is still up and running for her 430 million followers on Friday morning at 04.34, so whether she will do as she has announced is uncertain.
