Selena Gomez is considering quitting her music career. The singer and actress tells in conversation with Vogue that she has doubts about continuing with music, because she does not feel she is being taken seriously.
“It’s hard to keep going with music if people don’t take you very seriously,” says Gomez. “I’ve had moments when I’ve thought, what’s the use of this? Why am I still doing this?”
Gomez explains that she struggled with the reactions to her single Lose You To Love Me. It became her first number one hit in the United States and, according to her, was the best song she has released. Yet there were also negative reactions. “For some people, even that number wasn’t enough.”
The singer, known for hits like Back To You, It Ain’t Me in Wolves, says she realizes that there are also people who appreciate her music. “I’m grateful for that and that’s why I’m going to continue with it, but the next time I make an album it will be different. I want to try again before I might quit music.”
Gomez says she wants to focus more on her career as an actress and producer in the future.
