Selena Gomez Announces Retirement from Music After Releasing New Album: “I Want to Rest”

American star Selena Gomez revealed that she plans to retire from the field of music and singing soon, only after releasing a new album.

Selena added in one of the episodes of the “Smartless” podcast that at the beginning of her career she enjoyed music a lot, and the concert tours she presented became very enjoyable, and at that time she was busy presenting the TV show “Wizards of Waverly Place.”

She explained that she found great pleasure in presenting television programs and touring together, but as she grew older, she felt her desire to settle on one thing.

The “Only Murders In the Building” star continued: “I feel like I have another album in me, but I will probably choose acting.” I want to rest because I’m tired.

It is noteworthy that Selena, 31 years old, released 3 singing albums, the most recent of which was Rare in 2020, and her last singing tour dates back to 2016, which she canceled halfway through due to her mental health struggles amid her diagnosis with lupus.

Selena mentioned how her stressful workload led to her being admitted to a mental institute, a topic she discussed transparently in her documentary “My Mind & Me.” She said: “It got to me because I like work and it distracts me from bad things.”

It is noteworthy that Selena released a new song called “Single Soon,” which is supposed to be the first song from her new album, and confirmed that it will not contain any sad songs.
