Selected Monuments in Ile-de-France: Heritage Lotto Winners and Unique Sites Revealed

They will be able to benefit from a facelift. The list of one hundred departmental sites selected in France by the Mission Patrimoine was unveiled on Monday 4 September. They will be able to benefit from the financial support of the Loto du Patrimoine. In Ile-de-France, eight sites will benefit from the heritage lotto. From the theater to the swimming pool, passing by a kiosk and a church, they are very varied. France Bleu Paris details the list of these selected monuments in the region.

The amount of the allocation for each site will be announced at the end of the year. These sites are in addition to the 18 emblematic sites already announced in March. In Ile-de-France, the Gallo-Roman archaeological site of Châteaubleau in Seine-et-Marne was then chosen.

The interior decorations of the Daunou theater in Paris

In Paris, the interior decorations of the Daunou theater were chosen. An art deco room in this theater built in 1921. A space designed by the seamstress Jeanne Lanvin who became famous for her blue and her daisies gilded with fine gold.

The former Félix Faure swimming pool in Saint-Denis, in Seine-Saint-Denis

In Seine-Saint-Denis, the former Félix Faure swimming pool in Saint-Denis will also be able to benefit from the heritage lotto. Inaugurated in 1933, it is the first building of its kind built in the suburbs of north-eastern Paris. It became known thanks in particular to a fresco of earthenware created by the artist Francesca, as well as its double arches.

Saint-Rémy de Montévrain church, in Seine-et-Marne

In Seine-et-Marne, the Saint-Rémy de Montévrain Catholic Church has been designated. A church at the crossroads of Romanesque and Gothic styles. The building was built between the 11th and 12th centuries.

The North Cellars of the park of the Château de Maisons-Laffitte, in the Yvelines

In the Yvelines, the North Caves of the park of the Château de Maisons-Laffitte are on the list of the heritage lotto. Built in the middle of the 17th century, the building was originally intended to accommodate the king during his hunts in Saint-Germain-en-Laye. Subsequently, the North Cellars of the park of the Château de Maisons-Laffitte hosted, at the beginning of the 20th century, an outdoor theater. Then in the early 1930s, the quarry was leased to Jumping for the training of saddle horses. The North Cellars of the park of the Château de Maisons-Laffitte are very popular with walkers.

The kiosks in the grounds of the Bligny Hospital Center in Briis-sous-Forges, in Essonne

In Essonne, the wooden and iron kiosks in the grounds of the Bligny Hospital Center in Briis-sous-Forges are also selected. These works date from the beginning of the 20th century, because of the passage of time, several have disappeared and only a handful remain today.

The boudoir of Maison Masséna in Bagneux, in the Hauts-de-Seine

In the Hauts-de-Seine, the Maison Masséna boudoir in Bagneux is also on the list. It is a small room dedicated to the mistress of André Masséna, Napoleon’s Marshal of the Empire, Eugénie Renique. This boudoir imagined at the beginning of the 19th century is inspired by the fashion of “Pompeii”.

The hospital chapel in Saint-Maurice, in Val-de-Marne

In Val-de-Marne, the hospital chapel in Saint-Maurice was chosen. Completed in 1886 on the plans of the architect Arthur Diet, the building is in the neo-classical style.

The Pontoise boathouse, in the Val-d’Oise

The most original selected project is undoubtedly Pontoise boathouse , in the Val-d’Oise. A chalet built around 1900, which made it possible to accommodate the many pleasure boats that sailed on the Oise at the beginning of the 20th century. It is a witness to this activity, which was very popular with Ile-de-France residents in the last century.

Scratch tickets already on sale

To help the selected sites, La Française des Jeux is offering a new edition of the illiko Mission Patrimoine scratch game from Monday 4 September. Available in three versions, the ticket is built around six games and a bonus game, and highlights the 18 emblematic sites of the regions selected by Mission Bern in 2023. Sold for 15 euros, it will allow players to win up to to 1.5 million euros.

Since its creation, the Heritage Foundation has raised 230 million euros, including 125 million from the heritage lotto, to save more than 850 sites. More than 5,500 sites at risk have been reported on the participatory platform www.missionbern.fr and millions of players participate every year.

To apply for the selection of departmental sites for the 2024 edition of the Heritage Mission, applications must be submitted before February 29, 2024.
