A man who targeted and bumped into a pedestrian on a street in Japan has been arrested.
Recently, news has been attracting attention in Japan’s online communities and social media that a man who only chooses women and clashes with them, the so-called “shoulder bread”, has been arrested.
In the posted video, the man intentionally walked up to a woman wearing a white sweater on a street in Shibuya, Tokyo, and then bumped into her shoulders hard.
The woman was rebuffed and embarrassed, but tried to ignore the man and move on. Then, the man pushed the woman harder with his shoulder, and the woman was pushed back and rebounded. It was an indiscriminate attack closer to violence than a simple bump.
As this video spread rapidly, some netizens shared similar experiences of harm, saying, “I was also a victim.”

A week later, news broke that the alleged man had been arrested by the police. At the time of the attack on the woman, the man was wearing shorts, a bag and white sneakers despite the freezing weather.
Later, a story surfaced that the man captured and subdued by the townspeople was the same person as he was wearing shorts and white sneakers. After receiving a report, three police officers dispatched to the scene overpowered the distressed man and managed to arrest him.
Meanwhile, in Japan, it is known that such a crime that purposefully collides with another person often occurs.
Earlier in 2020, a man who intentionally bumped into a woman was caught and arrested at Kamata Station on the Keikyu Line. The man in question claimed that he “delights in banging his arm against a woman’s breast”.
